Job Description Job description: Position Overview: The Controller will oversee all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and strategic financial planning. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, particularly within the construction/manufacturing industry. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management: Manage all aspects of financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Prepare and present financial statements. Oversee cash flow management and liquidity. Develop and maintain financial models for strategic decision-making. Coordinate budget preparation and financial forecasting. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Conduct audits and assessments to ensure regulatory compliance. Strategic Planning: Provide financial analysis and insights for business decisions. Collaborate with senior management on long-term financial strategies. Identify and mitigate financial risks. Team Management: Lead and develop the accounting team. Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations. Ensure team members have the necessary skills and tools. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting financial operations. Operational Efficiency: Optimize accounting processes and systems. Implement and maintain financial management tools. Maintain relationships with financial institutions. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (required). CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification (preferred). Experience: 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the construction/manufacturing industry is highly desirable. Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
